ABOUT ME

Montserrat is a designer, illustrator, patternmaker, teacher,  unashamed maker of lists, textile hoarder and collector of vintage tea cups.

With over 10 years experience in the textile industry, she has co-owned and designed  in the Sydney’s women’s fashion label “I Peck your Pun” as well as patternmaking and over seeing production.
In addition to co-running her own label, she has worked as a freelance designer, illustrator, patternmaker and spec technician for 8 years for several design companies in Australia and Spain.
Her experience includes strong trend analysis and research, idea and mood board development. She has creatively directed collections, from the initial ideas right through to the point of sale. And has covered a variety of target markets, in particular, women’s wear from casual day wear, denim to sportswear to men’s shirting, uniform design, homewares and teen and kids licensing products.

Her specialties are:
• Ideas and direction spanning from Fashion to Visual Communication.
• Artwork for all-over and placement prints, knitwear embellishments and embroidery.
• Excellent traditional hand drawing and printmaking skills and a diverse background within image making and hands-on craft techniques as well as developed Adobe Creative suite skills.

When she’s not re-educating herself on the latest graphics programs and feeding the eternal frenzy in her mind, she is making multi-optical, sparkly spiders with her niece Valentina (making sure the next generation has a good dose of craftiness imposed on them as toddlers). Born and raised in Sydney, Australia she is currently living in Madrid, Spain.
